Pear Chocolate Crumble

Dessert for breakfast? Why not? Especially if it’s high in fiber, protein, and antioxidants.

Such an amazing combination of the softness and juiciness of baked pears with the richness of dark chocolate and the crunchiness of the oat and nut crumble. Yum! 💚

🍽 Serves 4-5

🕘 40-45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 6 soft pears

  • 100g dark chocolate (I used @whittakersnz)

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • ½ cup hemp hearts @hemp.nz

  • ½ cup walnuts

  • ½ cup pecans

  • 1 tsp raw sugar

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • Big pinch of salt

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

  • Plant-based yoghurt (I used @raglanfoodco – Greek-style coconut yoghurt)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180’C.

  2. Prepare all the ingredients: Peel and chop the pears into 2 cm pieces. Roughly chop walnuts, pecans, and chocolate.

  3. In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, walnuts, pecans, hemp hearts, raw sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add olive oil and mix well.

  4. In an oven dish, place the pears. Spread the chocolate and cover it with the oat-nut mix. Press with a spatula to make sure everything is covered evenly.

  5. Bake for 30min.

  6. Enjoy with plant-based yoghurt! 😊
