This is it! The sandwich of your dreams! This tofu chick'n is super juicy and incredibly flavorful. It's very easy to prepare and perfect for lunch! Make sure you try it! You will love it!
🍽 Serves 2 🕘 20-25 minutes Difficulty: Beginner
Ingredients:
1 pack of firm tofu
1 Tbsp of extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 of garlic powder
1/2 tsp of good quality plant-based vegetable or chicken stock powder
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
Pinch of salt
1/3 cup hot water
Juice from 1/2 lemon
1 baguette
1 tomato
Lettuce or spinach
Vegan aioli
Vegan butter
Cracked pepper
Instructions:
Prepare the ingredients. Wrap the tofu in a clean tea towel and press to drain the water.
Using your fingers, crumble the tofu into bite-size pieces.
In a large pan, heat extra-virgin olive oil to medium-high. Place the tofu, sprinkle salt and garlic powder, and fry for approx. 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
In the meantime, in a bowl, combine plant-based stock, herbs, and seasoning.
Once the tofu starts to golden brown, pour the stock in and squeeze the lemon juice.
Bring to boil and lower the temperature to medium. Simmer for approx. 8-10 minutes until the liquid has dissolved.
Remove the tofu from the heat and set aside.
Cut the baguette in half and toast it to your preference.
Assemble the sandwich. Spread aioli, place lettuce, tofu chick'n, slices of tomato, cracked pepper, and place the remaining baguette part on top.
