Ingredients
1 can butter beans
1 can cannellini beans
1 can whole tomatoes
Ā½ - 1 cup water (depending on how thick you like it)
1 tsp olive oil
5 bay leaves
Ā¼ tsp allspice
1/8 tsp smoked paprika
Ā½ Tbsp raw sugar
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp marjoram
1 medium onion
3 cloves of garlic
1 Tbsp tomato paste
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Prepare all the ingredients. Dice the onion, and mince the garlic.
In a large pot, heat the olive oil to medium. Add onion, garlic, bay leaves, allspice, marjoram, parsley, tomato paste, smoked paprika, and raw sugar. Mix and sautƩ for 4 minutes.
Add tomatoes and break them down with a spatula. Add beans, water, salt, and pepper. Place the lid on and simmer for 20 minutes on medium-low heat.
Serve with toasted bread.
